Arvind Kejriwal latest news: Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam, and he was placed under remand to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) custody for six days, until March 28. According to the ED, Kejriwal planned the alcohol scam and followed the money trail to the 2022 Goa election campaign. ED claims that the chief minister promised undue benefits in exchange for large bribes from those involved in the liquor policy; these funds were used for the Goa and Punjab elections. Representing Kejriwal, senior advocate and Congressman Abhishek Manu Singhvi argued against routine remand, proposing a review of Kejriwal’s custody requirement.
On Friday, Kejriwal stated that when the ED officials visited his home, he was with his parents. In an interview with India Today, Kejriwal said that he was surprised by the quick arrest and had assumed the ED would wait two or three days before moving further. “I didn’t anticipate it. I had no idea that ED would come get me so quickly. Before they arrested me, I assumed they would wait at least two or three days. My parents’ blessings were taken away from me before I had the opportunity to accept them. Before the ED arrived, I was sitting with my parents,” Kejriwal was quoted by India Today.
According to Saurabh Bharadwaj, a minister in Delhi, “everyone said Kejriwal will continue as CM.”
Arvind Kejriwal will follow the public’s lead, according to Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj, who spoke to ANI. Major decisions have always been made by him based on the opinions of others. He engaged in meetings, spoke with the council members, and got in touch with all of his MLAs prior to making this choice. Every ward’s population was also consulted. Arvind Kejriwal is expected to remain the chief minister, according to all.
